Process Project Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Process Project Manager to lead the execution of industrial process projects from concept through commissioning. This role is responsible for managing technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of projects involving process systems, fluid handling, heat transfer, and related process equipment. The ideal candidate is an organized leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple industrial process projects through engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution, including conducting site visits, gathering field information, coordinating shutdown activities, and resolving technical questions.
- Provide technical leadership and support to engineering, fabrication, and field installation teams to ensure projects meet quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and operations to maintain project schedules and deliverables.
- Monitor project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to minimize schedule or cost impacts.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding project status, schedule updates, technical issues, and change management.
- Review project documentation, drawings, calculations, and specifications for technical accuracy and completeness.
- Support proposal reviews, budgeting efforts, and the preparation of change orders when project requirements evolve.
- Develop and maintain project schedules while coordinating labor and resource planning with internal teams.
- Provide on-site project leadership during installation and startup activities as needed, coordinating contractors, customer personnel, and internal resources.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable industry regulations.
- Foster positive working relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
Required
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Project Management, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant industrial experience.
- At least 3 years managing engineering, construction, or industrial process projects.
- Experience with process systems involving fluid handling, heat transfer, piping, or related industrial equipment.
- Experience supporting projects within food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other sanitary process industries is highly desirable.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Travel
- Travel approximately 25–35%, primarily within the United States, with occasional overnight travel and limited international travel depending on project requirements.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport if international travel is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs or ladders, and move throughout industrial facilities as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and through written correspondence.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
